CMM
2003 serves Dinalupihan, Bataan and Hagonoy
This
year marks CMM's 10th year of providing free medical, surgical,
dental and ophthalmic services to our less fortunate "kababayan."
In the past, each mission would cover two venues, but for
the first time this year, three venues were served: Bataan,
Bulacan and La Union.
Although
we struggled during the early stages of our planning in venue selection,
finding a US Coordinator and raising funds, the CMM once again did
an outstanding job of pulling through. Ultimately, we served over
10,000 Filipinos who otherwise would not have gotten any
medical help.
The
Mission started on January 22 and ended on February 8, 2003.In each
venue, we averagedthirty volunteers from the US and from the Philippines
combined. We started the day at 5:30 AM and ended at 5:00 PM. As
always, the camaraderie, teamwork, dedication and hard work of these
volunteers were exceptional! Each volunteer gave their time, talent
and treasure but we left feeling that we got more than what we gave.
